He had missed her. Now that Amanda was finally in front of him again on the screen, he realised he had missed her, not human company in general. This was personal. He had tried to tell himself that he wasn’t falling for her, but it was pointless. It was too late for that.

She couldn’t stop looking at his profile picture. He was cute, not in the Hollywood actor kind of way, but the kind of just-might-have-the-tiniest-chance-here kind of cute. He was only a mile out of her league instead of the usual ten miles.

That’s what she wanted to say, but to her introvert heart, such confessions didn't come easy. All she did was send a heart reaction to his message, hoping she could convey enough in that action.
