I’m going to stick with the Finnish theme for now.

I’ve never seen Apocalyptica although I have it on good authority that they are an excellent live band and nice guys. I was supposed to see them in Glasgow two years ago, on the anniversary tour of this very album, but the weather put a stop to those plans. That week, parts of Ireland got over one metre of snow, a quantity this country is not used to or built for at all. Getting to Dublin to get a flight was impossible, and it would have been as bad at the other end in Scotland. Luckily, hotels, bus companies and airlines all provided refunds in the circumstances, so we only lost money on our gig tickets. Apocalyptica, being sturdy Finns, went ahead with the show.

I’m still determined to see them on another occasion.

'Nothing Else Matters' is taken from the Apocalyptica album 'Inquisition Symphony' released in 1998 & features as a bonus track on the new re-release of 'Plays Metallica by Four Cellos [Remastered]' - out now!
