Last weekend, I drove four hours each way to get down to Co. Tipperary where I was taking part in an agility competition.

I was delighted to find out afterwards that there is now a quicker way to get from Sligo to Clonmel - 3.5 hours on the new Galway bypass, which I took on the way home. This competition is on every year and is part of the Clonmel Agricultural Show. As an agility competitor, it’s a challenging atmosphere with crowds, others animals - such as cows and alpacas - and live music, but it’s also a small event, which makes it a little easier to get placed. I had an excellent day, and my youngest dog, Dexter, did a hat trick and won all of his classes with a clear round, taking us to grade 5.

I took the photo when we were finished running for the day so that the dogs could cool down and stretch their legs. Toby, who placed second in each class, losing only to his brother due to being slower, was tired and kept lying down, whereas Dexter still ran around trying to chase birds… With scenery like this, we all felt on top of the world that day!
